Our Story
South Africa Clear Screen Media, in association with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF)and the Presidential Employment Stimulus, is proud to announce the inaugural New Dawn Film Screening, taking place on Friday, 26 September 2025 at 5:00 PM at Sterland Cinema, Pretoria.
The evening will feature the exclusive premiere of Sabotage, a tense and thought-provoking crime drama co- directed by Kenneth Mabena. The film explores themes of betrayal, loyalty, and the high price of ambition shining a light on the choices people make when survival and morality collide.
Following the screening, the event will host a special awards ceremony recognising the achievements of emerging filmmakers from Mpumalanga. Awards will highlight storytelling, directing, cinematography, and audience impact, ensuring that local talent is celebrated and encouraged to grow within the industry.
“This is the start of something bigger than all of us a movement that will inspire, educate, and elevate young creatives who are ready to tell their stories to the world,” said Kenneth Mabena, co-director of Sabotage and producer of the New Dawn initiative.
The New Dawn Film Screening is more than just a premiere it is the beginning of a long-term vision to create opportunities, networks, and platforms for young filmmakers in Mpumalanga. The initiative aims to nurture creativity, amplify authentic local voices, and build a sustainable culture of storytelling.
